The new location at Buddy Holly Hall will hold six dance studios, parent/community, office and storage space.

“The location, in the heart of the downtown cultural arts district, builds on our great community partnerships creating a synergy and presence that is responsive and powerful. Just imagine if everyone in our community had the opportunity for creative expression. We see our future with Buddy Holly Hall as a vehicle to enhance programs, performances, and most importantly, our current outreach activities for our community,” said Ballet Lubbock Artistic Director Yvonne Racz Key.

At Ballet Lubbock, it is truly believed that art transforms lives. When students train here, they not only learn the technique of dance, but they are educated in the values of creativity, discipline, focus, and commitment. Thus, their greatest successes occur off the stage. Ballet Lubbock’s graduates, regardless of whether they pursue dance professionally, take these skills with them on all paths of life. They are mature, creative young adults who have learned the value of a focused passion and the reward of creating for their community.

Ballet Lubbock envisions an inclusive community, and currently offers free and subsidized dance classes in four elementary schools in LISD, and schools in the Frienship district and the Lubbock Cooper district; at Lubbock Boys’ and Girls’ Club and the Guadalupe/Parkway Neighborhood Centers.

Founded in 1969, Ballet Lubbock is a private, non-profit organization that strives to be an integral component of Lubbock’s cultural fabric. The partnership between Ballet Lubbock and LEPAA will have an influential impact on the community by giving a diverse body of students a rare opportunity to learn, practice, and perform in a world-class performing arts venue surrounded by world-class talent.
